Description of the organization's activities:
The Quebec Community Groups Network identifies, explores and addresses the strategic issues affecting the development and vitality of English-speaking Quebec. It encourages dialogue and collaboration among its member organizations, individuals. community groups, institutions and leaders. In partnership with member organizations, stakeholders, community leaders and institutions, it articulates the views of English-speaking Quebec on issues of strategic concern and takes action to address them

- THE QUEBEC COMMUNITY GROUPS NETWORK IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION BRINGING TOGETHER 20 ENGLISH-LANGUAGE COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS QUEBEC FOR THE PURPOSES OF SUPPORTING AND ASSISTING THE DEVELOPMENT AND ENHANCING THE VITALITY OF THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE MINORITY COMMUNITIES, AS WELL AS PROMOTING AND SUPPORTING THE USE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN QUEBEC. THIS IS UNDERTAKEN PRINCIPALLY THROUGH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AND THROUGH THE PROMOTION OF AN EFFECTIVE COORDINATED APPROACH BETWEEN COMMUNITY MEMBERS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT.THE QCGN AND ITS MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS ALSO PROMOTE AWARENESS OF THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE MINORITY COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING INFORMATION TO THE POPULATION AS A WHOLE, AS WELL AS TO GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS OF THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC AND CANADA. THE NETWORK ENCOURAGES AND PROMOTES PARTICIPATION BY KEY FEDERAL DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE MINORITY COMMUNITIES, AND PROMOTES COOPERATION WITH PROVINCIAL, REGIONAL AND MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES IN ORDER TO SUPPORT AND ASSIST THE DEVELOPMENT AND ENHANCE THE VITALITY OF THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE MINORITY COMMUNITIES. THE QCGN ALSO AIMS TO PROMOTE DIALOGUE AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE LINGUISTIC COMMUNITIES IN CANADA.PRIORITY SECTOR ACTIVITIES FOR THE MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS OF THE QCGN ARE ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE, COMMUNICATIONS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION AND TRAINING, GOVERNMENT AND LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS, AND PARA-PUBLIC SERVICES, HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES, HUMAN RESOURCES, INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT, RURAL ISSUES, SPORTS AND RECREATION, AND YOUTH. THESE SECTORS ARE ADDRESSED THROUGH, AMONGST OTHER TYPES OF ACTIVITY: ADVOCACY, IN THE AREAS OF LEGAL ISSUES, LANGUAGE ISSUES, POLITICAL AND CONSTITUTIONAL AFFAIRS; COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION, INCLUDING SHOWCASING AND RECOGNITION; PLANNING, COORDINATION AND COMMUNICATIONS; AND RESEARCH, INCLUDING DEMOGRAPHIC AND STRATEGIC ANALYSIS.
