Policies or Program

• Aboriginal Affairs Uphold the responsibility to provide adequate care for Indigenous communities including upholding their right to safe drinking water, the impact of climate change on Indigenous communities, and justice and accountability for police mistreatment and abuse of Indigenous women and girls.
• Health Ensure the adequate availability and accessibility of palliative care at all levels of care, in particular in light of the government's implementation of the Supreme Court ruling in Carter vs. Canada on physician-assisted dying. Ensure adequate government support for people with disabilities and older people during extreme climate change in Canada. Ensure adequate long-term care for older persons living in Canada.
• International Relations Hold repressive governments to account for their human rights violations and work with foreign governments to secure the release of Canadians detained abroad.
• Justice and Law Enforcement Urging the Canadian government to again provide robust support for the International Criminal Court. Gradually abolish immigration detention. Under no circumstances should a person for immigration-related reasons be treated in a punitive manner, including being subjected to solitary confinement, or detained in facilities used for criminal law enforcement, such as jails, prisons, or police stations, or in jail-like facilities.

• Labour Canada should introduce regulations to provide incentives or require international apparel brands domiciled in Canada to make non-financial, human rights-related disclosures.
• Mining Urging the Canadian government to regulate the human rights practices of Canadian mining companies abroad
