Description of the organization's activities:
CARP is a national, non-partisan, non-profit organization committed to advocating for social change that will bring financial security, equitable access to health care and freedom from discrimination for all Canadians as we age. CARP’s activities include the research and development of policy position papers for submission to various governmental agencies, review panels, legislative committees and public office holders, primarily in the fields of finances, health care and human rights.
Organization's membership or classes of membership:
CARP has approximately 300,000 members across Canada. There is one class of members: regular members. A Membership includes one other adult member of a Member’s household, including but not limited to the spouse of the Member.
All members are entitled to receive notices of and to attend meetings of members. Members have the right to vote at meetings of members.

An Associate Membership is available to one other adult member of a Member’s household, including but not limited to the spouse of the Member, or groups, societies, associations or organizations, whether incorporated or not, who are engaged in activities similar or complementary, or who have objects similar, in whole or in part, to those of the Association
