Description of the organization's activities:
Founded in 1911, and one of the fastest growing universities in Ontario, Wilfrid Laurier University is a comprehensive university focusing on excellence in teaching and research, with approximately 15,000 full-time equivalent undergraduate and graduate students on campuses in Waterloo, Brantford, Kitchener and Toronto. Laurier’s Faculties of Arts, Science, Music, Education, Social Work, School of Business & Economics, and Brantford Campus offer an unparalleled academic experience.

Organization's membership or classes of membership:
The University is governed by a bicameral structure established by the Wilfrid Laurier University Act, 1973 and the Wilfrid Laurier University Amendment Act, 2001. The Act assigns direction for all operational aspects of the university to a 34 member Board of Governors. The Senate is responsible for academic programming. The Senate and Board of Governors have a broad membership including students, faculty, staff members, alumni business and community leaders.
