• Bill C-234 Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act For bill to be approved by the government of Canada so natural gas and propane are exempt from the federal carbon tax in relation to agricultural producers.
• Clean Fuel Standards - Issues regarding compliance with land use and biodiversity. Further understanding and consultation regarding “verification and certification” of the feedstock and how this will directly impact farmers.
• The review of the Pest Management Regulatory Agency’s Pest Control Products Act Ensure that any policy change be based upon sound science and should never be influenced by outside organizations with a single motive or intent that does not encompass the PMRA’s main purpose.
• Value Creation to enhance private plant breeding programs in Canada. Ensure that options presented are to the benefit of producers.

• A Healthy Environment and a Healthy Economy: Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act - Urge the federal government to consider incentives or exemptions to agriculture production in the following areas: increase costs for heating farm buildings, drying grain, irrigation, moving commodities by rail, buying essential farm inputs such as fertilizer and machinery recognition of already existing responsible environmental practices by the ag sector: Agriculture Clean Tech Program criteria

Policies or Program

• A Healthy Environment and aHealthy Economy – reduce emissions from fertilizer by 30% below 2020 levels by 2030. To meet targets urge government to implement 4R Nutrient Stewardship Program . Also to urge the federal government to focus on emission intensity rather then absolute reduction.
• Sustainable Canadian Agriculture Partnership (SCAP) Risk management solutions that will offset the costs/risks of producers adapting unproven innovation to reduce emissions on their operations.
