Description of the organization's activities:
Medtech Canada is the national association representing the medical technology industry in Canada. Our association advocates for achieving patient access to leading edge, innovative technology solutions that provide valuable outcomes. Our members are committed to providing safe and innovative medical technologies that enhance the quality of patient care, improve patient access to health care, and help enable the sustainability of our health care system. The medical technology industry in Canada employs over 35,000 Canadians in approximately 1,500 facilities across the country.

Descriptions of the organization's activity in previous versions:
- MEDEC is the national association created by and for the Canadian medical technology industry. MEDEC is the primary source for advocacy, information and education on the medical technology industry for members, the greater healthcare community, industry partners and the general public. Our goals are to advance health outcomes for patients in Canada and the growth and vibrancy of the industry in Canada. We focus on ensuring access to proven, safe technology and new, innovative medical technology developed by our member companies.
- MEDEC is the national industry association and primary source for advocacy, information and education for the medical device industry.
Organization's membership or classes of membership:
Full Membership: Applies to companies engaged in the manufacturing and/or distribution of medical device and diagnostic products in Canada. Full members receive all benefits of membership, including voting privileges, information services, access to educational programs and seminars at a reduced cost, annual membership directory and eligibility to sit on the Board of Directors. Dues are based on prior year's domestic sales.
Allied Business Membership: Applies to consultants and service providers to the medical device industry. Allied Business members pay an annual flat fee.
Associate Membership: Applies to not for profit organizations that are valued partners of Medtech Canada and offer value to members. Associate members pay a flat annual fee.
Emerging Medical Technology (EMT): Applies to medical technology companies that are pre-commercialized. EMT members receive some of the same benefits as full members excluding voting privileges and eligibility to sit on the Board of Directors. These companies may become Full Members at any time by subscribing to the Full Member Fee Structure. EMT members pay an annual flat fee.
