Description of the organization's activities
The Canadian Pork Council (CPC) is a federation of provincial pork producers' organizations comprehensively representative of farmers in the business of raising hogs. The CPC is not engaged in the marketing of hogs, but is primarily occupied with the development and advocacy of policies related to pork producers interests both nationally and internationally.

The Canadian Pork Council is composed of provincial hog producers organizations, some of which are engaged in the marketing of hogs, all of which are involved in representation of hog producers' interests to their respective provincial governments. These organizations are funded by regulated checkoffs collected on pigs marketed from within the province. The CPC's members include B.C. Pork, Alberta Pork, Sask Pork, Manitoba Pork Council, Ontario Pork, la Fédération des Producteurs de Porcs du Québec, Porc NB Pork, Pork Nova Scotia, and the Prince Edward Island Hog Commodity Marketing Board.
