Description of activities
Enerkem develops renewable biofuels and chemicals from waste. Through the combination of a unique thermochemical technology platform and community-based advanced facilities, Enerkem addresses the challenges of oil dependence and waste disposal. Enerkem operates 2 plants in Canada: a demonstration facility in Westbury, Quebec and the world’s first commercial scale MSW-to-biofuels and chemicals plant in Edmonton. Enerkem is developing its next commercial plant in Varennes, and is launching several initiatives to export its clean technology around the world. These plants will produce biofuels and renewable chemicals.
