Description of the organization's activities

To be the champion for the propane industry by enhancing the public’s image of propane as a clean, portable, flexible, reliable and safe fuel source. To educate and inform politicians, officials and advisors of the role propane can play as an environmentally friendly and cost effective energy driver to the Canadian economy. To develop evidence-based policy, advocate proactively and achieve results on issues relevant to the Members; this includes in particular promoting an efficient regulatory environment that balances the interests of all stakeholders (Members, consumers and the general public). To maintain proactive and ongoing dialogue with all levels of government and standards setting organizations to ensure the propane industry’s interests will be achieved.

The propane industry in Canada is comprised of organizations or individuals involved in: the production, storage, handling, transportation or marketing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), as well as the manufacture, assembly, servicing or marketing of LPG equipment, appliances, containers and propane utilization systems. Associated sectors include organizations or individuals involved in services directed at the LPG industry such as financial, insurance, media, consulting as well as related industry associations, government and regulatory agencies and consumer associations where propane may be used (recreational vehicles, boating, etc.). Membership in the Association is drawn from these sectors and any other party with an interest in the LPG industry within or outside of Canada.
