- Bank Act - federal credit union provisions. Competitiveness of credit unions, Section 983 Bank Act - Section 427-429 Bank Act security and preparation for government's next scheduled review of federal financial institutions legislative review in 2019.
- Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act as it relates to lending practices and priority of security. Monitor and participate in the review of the Act.
- Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) Act. Monitor the progress of the CDIC review of deposit insurance and participate in any consultations or research initiatives Monitor any resulting changes to the CDIC Act.

- The Income Tax Act as it relates to the taxation of credit unions, cooperatives and small business.
- The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act with respect to impact on credit unions and credit union centrals.
- Winding-up Restructuring Act and applicability to credit unions and credit union centrals.

Description of the organization's activities
1. the national trade association for credit unions across Canada.
2. oversees and develops legislative policy and advocacy, and provides non-financial services to support credit union activities and strategies for further development: communications and marketing, payment network operations and compliance; professional development; linkage into national and international ATM networks; regulatory compliance support.
3. represents credit unions and maintains close working relationships with other national and international organizations such as: Payments Canada; Interac Association; the Canadian Cooperative Association; Credit Union Institute of Canada; the Desjardins Group; the Francophone federations outside Quebec; the World Council of Credit Unions which has affiliated members in 80 countries and directs financial and leadership resources to credit unions throughout the world; and the federal government, representing credit unions' interests on issues such as statutes, government regulation of financial services, taxation, liquidity management.
