ACTA is Canada's national non-profit, member-based trade association that has served as the voice of the retail travel sector since 1977. ACTA travel agencies and independent travel advisors across Canada, actively advocating with federal and provincial governments, regulatory agencies, and travel suppliers for members' best interests and the consumers who benefit from professional travel services. ACTA positions travel agencies and independent travel advisors as travel experts and promotes the value of the retail travel industry to the traveling public through comprehensive advocacy and professional development. Core activities include leading government relations and advocacy efforts on critical issues such as Canada-US trade relations, regulatory reform, and industry recovery support programs. The association maintains rigorous ethical standards through its Code of Ethics, Code of Best Practices, and Code of Conduct. ACTA works collaboratively with government bodies, sister associations, and international partners, including sitting on joint committees with IATA and partnering with tourism organizations worldwide to strengthen Canada's position in the global travel marketplace.
