Description of the organization's activities: THE MISSION OF THE CANADIAN WIND ENERGY ASSOCIATION (CANWEA) IS TO SUPPORT THE APPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENT OF WIND ENERGY IN CANADA AND OUR CURRENT OBJECTIVE IS TO ACHIEVE 10,000 MW OF CONTRACTED OR INSTALLED WIND ENERGY CAPACITY IN CANADA BY 2010. OUR MEMBERS INCLUDE WIND TURBINE AND COMPONENT MANUFACTURERS, WIND PROJECT DEVELOPERS AND OWNERS, WIND ENERGY CONSULTANTS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS, ALONG WITH OTHER CORPORATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH A STRONG INTEREST IN SUPPORTING THE CANADIAN WIND ENERGY INDUSTRY. CANWEA PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES FOR ITS MEMBERS: GOVERNMENT RELATIONS, MEMBERS COMMUNICATION/INFORMATION SUPPORT, PUBLIC EDUCATION AND OUTREACH.
