Description of the organization's activities:
McGill University is one of Canada's best-known institutions of higher learning and one of the country's leading research-intensive universities. McGill has two campuses, 11 faculties, some 300 programs of study, and more than 35,000 students.

The university has no membership, as such. The Board of Governors is the University's highest governing body, with general jurisdiction and final authority over the conduct of the affairs of the University. The Senate exercises general control and supervision over the academic affairs of the institution, subject to the authority of the Board of Governors.
