The Chamber of Marine Commerce (CMC) is calling for:
Expansion of CBSA container clearance services to additional Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway ports to unlock trade and supply chain capacity.
Regulatory and policy adjustments allowing inland and regional ports to process international containers directly, removing current bottlenecks.
Federal investment and operational commitment to support this CBSA expansion, an initiative that would rapidly repay itself and strengthen national trade resilience.
