We are meeting with public office holders to discuss programs and policies to improve economic conditions and affordability of in the consumer goods in the North, including Nutrition North Canada which is a retail subsidy that is fully passed on to consumers to make nutritious food and some essential items more affordable and accessible, upgrades to Northern infrastructure, dual use infrastructure and supply chains.

We will be speaking and meeting with designated public office holders about a matter that relates to the cancellation of the carbon charge. This decision did not include a mechanism for Canada to refund businesses and communities for carbon charges paid on fuel purchased before the repeal but sold after April 1, 2025, an issue of importance specifically in Northern and Indigenous communities.
