Consumer Issues - The perceived quality and safety of Canadian dairy products versus that of imported goods is of paramount concern to the dairy industry. To this end, we have an interest in ensuring the integrity of the Product of Canada and Made in Canada logos by maintaining the current Canadian thresholds and continuing to transparently identify imported content on dairy products.

International Trade - The dairy industry supports maintaining Canada's supply managed agricultural system. When market concessions occur in trade agreements, including the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), we seek federal government mitigation for impacts on dairy farmers. We ask that no domestic dairy market concessions are made in future trade agreements.

We represent all dairy producers in British Columbia and believe in producing milk of the highest quality and standards. We are dedicated in enhancing our domestic industry and maintaining sustainable farming practices. The British Columbia Dairy Association (BCDA) is the voice of all dairy farmers in British Columbia. We are advocates with governments, the media, special interest groups, environmentalists and other industry associations. Our purpose is to advance the legitimate business interests of this province’s dairy farmers and to promote a vibrant and sustainable industry that supplies only the best quality milk and milk products to our consumers. We represent all commercial dairy farmers throughout BC and have delegates from all regions that are appointed to serve on the BCDA board of directors on three-year terms. As the umbrella organization, it is our role to represent all regions provincially and federally. We support and work closely with the Dairy Farmers of Canada through delegates nominated to represent BC at their annual General Meeting and Policy Conference. Dairy Farmers of Canada is the group that deals with national dairy issues including policy, lobbying and trade, and market development for industrial products.
