When a child is critically sick or injured, the whole family is affected. Ronald McDonald House Canada helps families stay close to one another and close to the healthcare their child needs. In Canada, two out of three families live outside a city with a children’s hospital and must travel for treatment if their child is critically sick or injured. For 45 years, Ronald McDonald House has helped bridge that gap by surrounding families with the resources, support, and community they need to stay at the heart of their child’s care. Ronald McDonald House operates 37 program locations nationwide, including 16 House programs and 21 Family Room programs. Ronald McDonald House is far more than a place to stay. It is essential community infrastructure that enables access to Canada’s paediatric healthcare system. Ronald McDonald House programs provide accommodation, meals, mental health and wellness programming, sibling and peer support, and other wraparound services that reduce barriers for families during medical crisis.
