Description of the organization's activities: The CNGVA is the umbrella non-profit organization that supports member companies in the Canadian natural gas vehicle (NGV)industry. The CNGVA encourages municipal, provincial and the federal government to support the use of NGVs through contribution programs, policies and regulations. The CNGVA also provides support for member companies in maintaining and developing export markets.
Organization's membership or classes of membership: The CNGVA is composed of utilities, manufacturers, R&D firms and consultants. The utilities include Enbridge Gas Distribution,Ontario, ATCO Gas, Alberta, and Sask Energy, Saskatchewan. Other companies include Clean Energy, British Columbia, Dynetek, Alberta, ECO Fuel Systems, British Columbia, Westport, British Columbia, FuelMaker, Ontario, and Kraus Global in Manitoba. Research and development organizations include the Saskatchewan Research Council and Powerteck in British Columbia.

Subject Matter: Retrospective: The recent CNGVA activities have included negotiating the follow on Orginal Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)/conversion contribution agreement with Natural Resources Canada. In addition, work has taken place with NRCan to finalize the deliverables and financial expenditures regarding the two previous agreements.The organization has also started discussions on the program review activities associated with federal government climate change programs.
Subject Matter: Prospective: The next 6 months will be focussed on delivering on the terms and conditions of the contribution agreement including monitoring and reporting on GHG emission reductions achieved. The CNGVA will also be seeking new opportunities for contribution funding for other modes of transportation including heavy duty vehicles. Finally, the CNGVA will be providing information and intellegence to governments on the importance of natural gas vehicles for the purposes of energy security and emissions reductions.
