Briefing notes were sent to the Standing Committee on Health and Special Committee on Canada-China Relations regarding the latest coronavirus outbreak. All members on these two committees were informed individually with a press release and a bilingual document. The Canadian Chinese Political Affairs Committee (CCPAC) has also requested to appear as witness in these two committees. CCPAC is asking the standing committees to make a mandatory quarantine policy to those who recently came back from China. CCPAC also informed the two committees that a majority of Chinese Canadians are far more concerned about China's extreme censorship on real time information about the outbreak and Canada's lack of preparedness, which was also shared by the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions

Canadian Chinese Political Affairs Committee (CCPAC) is a non-profit, multi-partisan organization that engages Chinese Canadians in the democratic process, foster active political participation and help community members build relationships within the Canadian political arena. We believe that the Chinese Canadian diaspora is ripe and conditioned to evolve into a civil society in the Chinese speaking world.
