We are asking for the creation of partially refundable tax credit to apply to community capital tools (i.e. community bonds, co-operatives shares etc.).
We do this work representing the Canadian Coalition for Community Capital, a grassroots network of various organizations in our sector that is 100% funded by Tapestry. Our employee, Suzanne Faiza, is the Coalition Coordinator.

Tapestry Community Capital is a non-profit organization that empowers charities, non-profits, and cooperatives to raise capital through community bonds—a proven financing tool that enables local investment for social impact. Tapestry supports non-profit, charitable, and co-operative organizations with advisory and administrative services to utilize the "not for profit issuer" prospectus exemption (section 2.38) of National Instrument 45-106 and related exemptions for co-operative organizations. Since its inception, Tapestry has supported qualified issuers in raising over $130 million through community bonds, helping finance high-impact projects in affordable housing, sustainable energy, arts and culture, education, and recreation. These initiatives have created meaningful change in communities across Canada.
