Description of the organization's activities
YMCA Canada is a charity dedicated to strengthening the foundations of communities. We do this by supporting our 48 Member Associations as they nurture the potential of children, teens and young adults; promote healthy living; and foster social responsibility in order to deliver lasting personal and social change. Our collective focus on inclusiveness and accessibility means YMCAs serve people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities through all stages of life. Through YMCA financial assistance programs, the YMCA is accessible to all. YMCA core offerings include: Childcare, Camping, Aquatics, Health & Fitness, Education, Employment Services, Volunteer Development, Global Initiatives, Community Initiatives and Opportunities to Give.
YMCA Canada plays a leadership role in the development of strong and relevant Canadian YMCA and YMCA-YWCA Member Associations; encourages collaborative initiatives; protects and enhances the reputation of the YMCA; and advocates on behalf of Member Associations regionally, nationally and internationally.
