Description of the organization's activities:
Parachute is a national, charitable organization dedicated to preventing injury and saving lives. It was created from the amalgamation of four leading Canadian injury prevention groups: Safe Communities Canada, Safe Kids Canada, SMARTRISK and ThinkFirst Canada. Parachute’s injury prevention programming and advocacy efforts are designed to help Canadians reduce their risks of injury while enjoying long lives lived to the fullest.

  • Currently, Parachute has incorporated existing formats from the four founding organizations which includes Chapters that have formed in 19 communities and focus on brain and spinal cord injuries, along with designated Safe Communities who form to address a variety of injuries in their communities. There are also an informal network of Partners across the country and they have an interest or mandate to provide injury prevention activities.
