- Amendments to sections 210-213 of the Criminal Code to protect the health and human rights of sex workers
- Canada's Access to Medicines Regime - re: amending existing legislation to simplify further use.
Legislative Proposal, Bill or Resolution, Policies or Program
- Criminal Code; Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and related regulations and legislative amendments. Our interest is in ensuring that these laws and regulations, and their application in practice, do not impede access to HIV prevention information, tools and services (eg. needle exchange programs, supervised injection facilities, methadone treatment) and other health services for people who use drugs.
Policies or Program
- Canadian delegation's position on global drug control law and policy (including the role of harm reduction and other health services) at the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs, including in the context of negotiations over a political declaration adopted on this subject by UN members states.
- Corrections and Conditional Release Act; Commissioner's Directives. Our interest in is ensuring that these facilitate access to HIV prevention information, tools and services, and facilitate access to adequate care, treatment and support for prisoners with HIV.
