- Cyberbullying: Continue to endorse action buy the Federal Government to address this issue through legislative change (Criminal code of Canada) and enhanced program supports.

- Bill C-377 – An Act to amend the Income Tax Act
Now that Bill C-377 has been amended by the Senate it is expected that it will return to the House for debate before being sent back to the Senate. We will continue our efforts with all parliamentarians to oppose this draconian piece of anti labour legislation.
- Continue to monitor and oppose any attempt to remove Section 43 of the Criminal Code.
- Continue to propose the strengthening of laws against exploitation of women and children.

- Access opportunities through House and Senate Committees to present and lobby for enhanced efforts to address the issue of child poverty. This would occur through budget measures that would increase the minimum wage, improve Employment Insurance benefits, increase investment in social housing, and, improve access to post-secondary education.
- Proposed First Nations Education Act. In July we hosted a conference on addressing the challenges facing Aboriginal education. Representatives from AANDC participated and as followw-up some AANDC reresentatives have accepted an invitation to follow-up at a meeting with our new Executive September 10th.

- Continue to lobby for the creation, under the Canada Health Act, of a universal health care benefits program for all Canadian employees, a national system for long-term and elder care, and a national system for affordable prescription drugs.

- Continue to seek to improve the regulations for the rating of films and video games to prevent violent products from being sold to children.
- Promote the reduction of Child Poverty through budget measures that would increase the minimum wage, improve Employment Insurance benefits, increase investment in social housing, and, improve access to post-secondary education.
- Seek changes to the Employment Insurance Program designed to improve access to benefits for part-time workers and to take into consideration regional differences in the implementation of EI regualtions.

- Continue to raise the profile of the importance of protecting defined benefit pension plans.
