Legislative Proposal, Bill or Resolution, Policies or Program
- Lobby for tax deductions that will encourage more Canadians to visit fitness facilities to improve their health and sustain employment within the fitness industry.
- Lobbying the Government to create a Fitness Tax Credit similar to the Children's Fitness Tax Credit created in 2006.
- We request and recommend that the proposed fitness tax credit be implemented for those who invest proactively in their health through memberships at fitness facilities. This will create an economic benefit in healthcare savings, while improving the lifestyle of Canadians.
- We request and recommend the recognition of registered exercise professionals and a tax benefit for individuals who work with these fitness professionals. This will assist in supporting mental and physical wellbeing during the pandemic.
Policies or Program
- Lobby for health and wellness initiatives and sustainability of the fitness industry (such as support with reopening fitness businesses and promoting exercise as preventive health care).
- We request and recommend to be included as hard-hit businesses and categorized as the same as the restaurant and hospitality industry.(This will assist the sustainability of thousands of fitness facilities.)
