Sought the inclusion of converted natural gas vehicles in Transport Canada's ecoAUTO incentive program in light of their ability to reduce emissions from light duty passenger vehicles consistent with ecoAUTO objectives.
Objets poursuivis : Renseignements prospectifs :
Seeking support for two heavy natural gas vehicle demonstrations: (1) on transit buses to demonstrate that the engine technology has improved and that these vehicles are a viable way to reduce urban air quality and greenhouse gas emissions; and (2) on refuse trucks to demonstrate that natural gas is an effective option for one of the least fuel efficient onroad vehicle types in use in Canada. Natural gas for refuse reduces air quality and greenhouse gas emissions with cost effective commercial technology and Canadian-supplied fuel that is 40-50% below the cost of diesel fuel.
