Financial benefit We will be holding a Hill Day on May 14th. We will be requesting meetings with MPs from all four parties. We will provide them with information on what ALS is and how important it is for us to have the government's continued support for research funding (which comes to us through the three institutes of CIHR). As research is the only cure for this fatal disease. Research provides hope for people with ALS as eighty per cent of those who get ALS will die within two to five years. Up to 10 per cent can live 10 years or more. ALS is not considered a rare disease. We will also be inviting all MPs and Senators to attend a reception on the evening of May 14th where we will give a short presentation about ALS and how important research is to find a cure for this devastating disease.
