Canadian Food Inspection Agency - consultations on process controls for the use of feed borne veterinary medications
Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Health Canada - process for the regulation and approval of animal Natural Health Products. CAHI is discussing Natural Health Products for animals with both the CFIA (Feeds Division) and VDD, Health Canada. The review and compliance programs are under discussion.
Health Canada - Importation of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients relating to animal health. CAHI is discussing a regulatory amendment for Own-Use Importation of animal drugs and for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
Health Canada - Policy and Regulatory Frameworks on Minor Use Minor Species. CAHI is discussing development of a policy regarding the process for submission and review of Minor Use/Minor Species animal drugs relative to the Veterinary Drugs Directorate (VDD), Health Canada. There is no draft statement of principles, although there is agreement that products must meet Canadian standards of safety, efficacy and manufacturing.
Health Canada - Veterinary Drug Submission Management. Policies/programs that are under discussion / development include: submission tracking; harmonization; submission guidelines; submission governance for animal drugs, feed additives and natural animal health products.
Health Canada - process for the regulation and approval of animal Natural Health Products
Health Canada and Canadian Food Inspection Agency - "Canadian Animal Health Products Regulatory Advisory Committee". The VDD/CFIA Canadian Animal Health Products Regulatory Advisory Committee provides strategic policy advice, from the perspective of the regulated parties and stakeholders, on matters relating to the implementation of recommendations from the IFAH Benchmarking Report as it relates to veterinary drugs and veterinary biologics with the goal of improving efficiency, capacity, responsiveness, cost effectiveness and timely availability of product.
