Health Canada "Canadian Drugs and Substances Strategy", a comprehensive, collaborative and evidence-based approach to drug policy, in respect to seeking support and endorsement by Health Canada of the National Alcohol Strategy (a voluntary initiative of a multi-stakeholder working group composed of alcohol and addictions Non-Government Organizations, academics, researchers, federal and provincial governments, the beverage alcohol industry and liquor boards).
Participation in the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) consultations on the Food Labelling Modernization Initiative, which has for its objective the identification of ways to better respond to changing consumer expectations and industry needs relating to labelling. This review will also consider changes to allow industry stakeholders to effectively market their products and communicate to consumers through labels.
Requesting that Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) ensure that the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) action plans and strategies on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) align with the Global Alcohol Strategy.
