• Forthcoming budgets or economic updates related to taxation of the upstream oil and gas sector and implementation of new or proposed budget-related tax initiatives affecting the upstream oil and gas sector.
• General competitiveness conversations and Canadian energy strategy discussions related to national level alignment on energy priorities, including North American energy security and US/Canada relations (i.e. market access and global energy markets).
• Innovation policies and clean technology funding initiatives that affect the upstream petroleum industry and providing feedback and recommendations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, practicality and fairness. Engagements on emerging policies for Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), hydrogen, and other decarbonization technologies and their applications to the oil and gas sector. Ongoing discussions on GHG policy and potential impacts to current, planned, and potential oil and gas developments.

• Discussions related to Bill C-12, Net Zero Legislation and its implications to the oil and gas sector.
