Border Carbon Adjustments with respect to study them as they are complex and then enact them
Bretton Woods Reforms: In 2023, there are reforms happening at the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. These reforms need to get funding to where it's needed most—developing economies. This will require overcoming several investment hurdles, including credit-rating constraints, foreign-exchange risks and the possibility of an emerging-markets debt crisis. The Bretton Woods Institutions will play a key role in that and we are lobbying for the Canadian division at the Bretton Woods institutions to support such reforms.
Creation of climate accountability laws that include science-based greenhouse gas targets and successive short term greenhouse gas budgets, with mandatory public reporting on progress in meeting these targets and budgets.
Define "inefficient fossil fuels subsidies" and them phase them out as promised in the 2009 G8 Summit meeting
Pan Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change
With respect to the carbon price:
That the carbon price is economy-wide.
That the national carbon price continues to rise past 2022
That border tax adjustments are included in the policy
That the federal government work with the provinces and territories to ensure provincial carbon pricing systems can keep up with the rising federal minimum carbon price without imposing any additional burdens on low and middle-income Canadians.
End financial subsidies to fossil fuel companies.

Rules are needed to facililate the financial sector through an orderly transition to a low-carbon economy in order to meet our climate targets while safeguarding the financial system from the systemic risks posed by climate change. We will be lobbying our parliamentarians to consider S-243, Climate-Aligned Finance Act.
