Accelerated Capital Cost Allowance. Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) is a deduction that can be claimed over a period of several years. The accelerated investment incentive provides an enhanced first-year allowance for certain eligible property that is subject to CCA rules. Budget 2021 allowed for immediate expensing of up to $1.5 million of eligible investments (e.g., tractors, combines, etc.,) each year by Canadian-controlled private corporations. The measure applied from April 2021 - December 2023. CFA seeks a re-introduction of this tax measure to make it more permanent to help farmers facing tight operating margins where they would otherwise delay investment in machinery and equipment.
