- Changes to a Ministerial Order amending the Identification of Criminals Act in respect to the provision of the Criminal Police Information Centre (CPIC) information in relation to the release of CPIC information for Security Clearance screening purposes.
- Changes to the Workplace Hazard Material Information System (WHMIS) sections of the Hazardous Products Act and the Controlled Products regulation as a result of Canadian implementation of the International agreement on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for the Classification and Labelling of Hazardous chemicals
- Proposed changes to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, or implementing regulations, towards achievement of improved alignment with the ongoing licensing process for nuclear facilities under the Nuclear Safety and Control Act by clarifying the exclusion of minor projects, enhancing the use of completed environmental assessments of nuclear facilities in subsequent environmental assessments involving the same facility or same activities, and ongoing involvement of the proponent in environmental assessment project scope definition to ensure alignment with the licensing approval sought.
- Proposed regulations to reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions from the electricity sector’s coal-fired units advocating the role that repowered, low capacity-factor, simple-cycle units plan in the electricity market and seeking confirmation that coal units repowered to burn biomass, gas, or co-fire biomass/gas will not be subject to the GHG regulation.
- Re - Introduction of Bill C-10 Amendment to add subsection 149(1) (z.2) to the Income Tax Act with respect to trusts established under the Nuclear Fuel Waste Act
- Regulatory Framework for Industrial Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Canada in respect to controlling greenhouse gas and conventional air pollutant emissions in the electricity sector including advocating for a role of nuclear energy in meeting targets
Re - Introduction of Bill C-62 “Provincial Choice Tax Framework Act” to amend the Excise Tax Act to implement the new harmonized value-added sales tax framework for all provinces, that choose to adopt this framework, to allow electric power generators to use the simplified method (i.e., 96% production proxy per Ontario Harmonized Sales Tax Information Notice 5) for determining Recapture of Input Tax Credits Requirement with regard to usage of electricity for Production activities.
