Looking for clarification of Federal Government Policy and Programs with respect to dealing with its responsibilities under The North American Free Trade Agreement in the event the agreement might be compromised by the actions of a provincial government.
Clarification, Arbitration Issues (Possible) -
Seeking clarification on federal government responsibilities under the Act when provincial government action is initiated that impacts the North American Free Trade Agreement such as the expropriation of a United States corporation's interest by a provincial government such as occurred in an act of the Newfoundland/Labrador House of Assembly with the passage in December 2008 of the "SNL 2008 Chapter A - 1.01 Abitibi Consolidated Rights and Assets Act. Seeking to increase awareness of specific federal responsibilities for any provincial action like the above that might be applicable so as yet cannot quote specific regulations or policies other than the spirit of the North American Free Trade Act itself and Chapter 11 which deal with claims and arbitrations in the event of a perceived breach of the agreement.
