- to advocate for the development of new legislation that has the potential to impact appropriate promote timely and transparent approval processes, and effective post-marketing surveillance for prescription medications
Policies or Program
- amend the current Employment Insurance sickness benefit to better reflect the needs of Canadians with episodic disabilities and for caregivers
- existing procedures for the special access programs for prescription medications will not create barriers that prevent people with arthritis from benefiting from this program
- promote an increase in funding for research related to arthritis and to support patient oriented research
- promote changes to the Common Drug Review process to minimize duplication, improve timeliness and transparancy, and encourage the amendment of guidelines to make comparisons of benefits and risks more meaningful to people with arthritis.
- revise the terms “severe and prolonged” in section 42 of the Canada Pension Plan
