Legislative Proposal, Bill or Resolution
- Budget - changes in the 2012 Federal Budget to increase the value of goods travelers can bring back into Canada free of taxes and duties seriously worsens the ability of Canadian RV dealers to compete with U.S. dealers who already face lower costs.
Duties on aftermarket RV parts and add-ons should be reduced to zero to assist dealers. Currently duties range between seven and 18 percent.

- Infrastructure - Ensuring that the Minsitry of Transport is allocated funding for the maintenance of Canadian highways.
- Public Land Access - Ensuring that consumers still have access to public land, ensuring Parks Canada receives funding to maintain its infrastructure.
- Recreation Vehicle (RV) Signage. The Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada continues work on the campaign to convince provincial transportation officials of the benefits of a nationwide Recreation Vehicle repair signage program.
- Tourism Strategy for the recreation vehicle and camping industries are developed with the Canadian Tourism Commission
Policies or Program, Regulation
- Transport Canada - RVDA of Canada recommends that Transport Canada allow a new category of “Designated Importers” to exist on the Pre-Clearance list. Under this category, the Canada Border Services Agency can be notified if a product is imported by one of the DI’s under that category, the Form 1 can be completed with that importers name and all other import documentation can remain under the dealer/purchaser/consignee’s name.
Regulation
- Consumer Issues - Review and Adoption of Recreation Vehicle Safety Standards
