TELUS is proposing new financial incentive policies or programs that will assist us in our ability to deliver next generation networks to our customers in rural and remote communities. These policies could include tax incentives, subsidies and partnership agreements.

Changes to Foreign Ownership restrictions in the telecom and broadcasting sectors. The government has consulted on the liberalization of the telecommunications industry. The Industry Committee is also reviewing these issue. The TELUS interest is to ensure that changes do not harm our ability to invest in Canada with the same rules as our competitors.
Possible introduction of consumer protection legislation and regulations TELUS is interested in future consumer protection legislation that deals with provisions concerning contract terms, pricing controls and formalization of new regulations or regulatory requirements.
Proposing amendments pursuant to Income Tax Act concerning Capital Cost Allowance deductions. TELUS is interested in seeking changes to Capital cost allowance deductions for spectrum purchased in auctions from the federal Government.
