- The Alliance for an Inclusive and Accessible Canada (the Alliance) is a group of 12 member organizations and three partner organizations from Canada’s disability community that is consulting Canadians about the proposed federal accessibility law. The Canadian Mental Health Association is one of the member organizations. The Alliance is consulting Canadians to collect their comments, concerns, and suggestions about this new law
Legislative Proposal, Bill or Resolution, Policies or Program
- Child and Youth Health and Mental Health Promotion, specifically related to the implementation of the Federal Framework for Suicide Prevention Act
- Health Accord Transition Fund, with respect to the new multi-year health accord.
- Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, develop a coordinated national action plan on post-traumatic stress disorder.
- Veterans Affairs, the development of a Centre of Excellence on Mental Health (COEMH) for Veterans and Their Families; and the development of a Suicide Prevention Strategy for Veterans.
Policies or Program
- Federal Framework for Suicide Prevention Act, with respect to the identification of options and activities related to its implementation in communities across Canada.
- Preventing Chronic Disease Strategic Plan 2013-2016, with respect to the development of a new Chronic Disease Strategic Plan after the expiry of the current plan in 2016
