Policies or Program
- Budget 2017, Innovation and Skills Plan: Ensure that the workforce and training needs of the automotive aftermarket are understood and invested in.
- Canadian Automotive Service Information Standard (CASIS): As vehicles become more connected, they will transmit and receive an extensive amount of data. The question of who owns and can access this data will impact consumer choice in where they can have their car repaired and maintained. CASIS, the current voluntary agreement, may be insufficient to deal with the new realities of vehicle data.
- Federal Ban on Asbestos: Ensure that the aftermarket is consulted throughout the planning and implementation phases of the ban; resulting in regulations that support, versus harm, the industry.
