Grant, Contribution or Other Financial Benefit
- Federal infrastructure funding: representing BC local governments, UBCM staff communicate with Infrastructure Canada staff regarding federal infrastructure funding programs (not the Gas Tax program).
- Funding for Community to Community Forum: UBCM engaged in follow up communications in regards to reporting and payment of the funds for the 2019/20 program year and payment for the 2020/21 Community to Community Forum program year.

- Federal Gas Tax Transfer Program: UBCM administers this program in British Columbia. Our staff are in contact with Infrastructure Canada staff on a regular basis. UBCM staff and a Board representative sit on an oversight committee for this program. UBCM staff are also in regular contact with ministerial staff and staff from parliamentary and constituency offices to plan communications and public announcements of projects funded by federal Gas Tax transfers.
Legislative Proposal, Bill or Resolution
- Implementation of the Fisheries Act and its effects on local communities.
- In the context of the Oceans Protection Plan and recent changes to the Marine Liability Act, local government feedback on the ways that ship-source oil spills might cause damage or losses to coastal communities.
Policies or Program
- Local government feedback about the restructure and changes proposed in the Minor Works Order Discussion Paper, as part of the second phase of consultation on the Minor Works Order of the Canadian Navigable Waters Act (CNWA).
- Off Reserve Action Plan: UBCM staff continue to communicate with Indigenous Services Canada staff regarding the implementation of the Off Reserve Action Plan, in co-ordination with the Province of British Columbia.
- RCMP contract: UBCM staff communicate regularly with staff from Public Safety Canada regarding the RCMP contract and policing matters. They also attend in-person meetings of the RCMP Contract Management Committee.
