Organigram is supportive of a strong well-regulated medical and adult-use cannabis system in Canada. Ongoing advocacy will focus on zero-rating and removing the Excise Tax on medical cannabis; a more flexible branding and promotion regulatory regime for low-THC cannabis edible and oil products; minimizing harms of use; strategies to eradicate the black market, allowing access to medical cannabis in pharmacies, programs to increase cannabis literacy; strengthening Canada’s cannabis compliance system and increasing funding for research and development into cannabis.
