- Dépôt d'un mémoire auprès du Comité permanent des finances de la Chambre des commune dans le cadre des consultations prébudgétaires en vue du budget de 2023.
RÉSUMÉ DES RECOMMANDATIONS
1. Mettre en œuvre l’engagement présenté dans la lettre de mandat du ministre
du Patrimoine canadien d’appuyer les auteurs et les éditeurs de livres
canadiens en augmentant de façon permanente le financement du Fonds du
livre du Canada, du Conseil des arts du Canada et du Programme du droit de
prêt public.
2. Apporter des modifications à la Loi sur le droit d’auteur afin qu’elle protège
tous les créateurs et tous les titulaires de droits d’auteur. Conformément à
l’engagement annoncé dans le budget de 2022, veiller à assurer la durabilité
de l’industrie de l’édition, notamment par une rémunération équitable pour
les créateurs et les titulaires de droits d’auteur.
3. Appliquer la Loi sur Investissement Canada à l’édition et à la distribution de
livres, en évaluant le « bénéfice net pour le Canada ». Soutenir notre industrie
canadienne du livre en favorisant, d’abord et avant tout, les maisons d’édition
de propriété canadienne.

Activités de lobbying : discussion sur les programmes d'aide aux éditeurs (projet littéraire, édition littéraire, traduction), les programmes Innovation et les programmes d'aide aux organismes.
- Patrimoine canadien et le Fonds du livre du Canada.
Activités de lobbying: Dans le but d’assurer une diversité dans les livres canadiens de langue française, l’Association nationale des éditeurs de livres rencontre le ministère du Patrimoine canadien et les représentants du Fonds du livre du Canada pour discuter de la réalité économique des maisons d’édition canadiennes afin d’assurer la mise en place des soutiens financiers nécessaires pour traverser la crise sanitaire de la COVID-19 et les années à venir.

Activités de lobbying : augmentation des sommes dédiées au programme de soutien à l'édition; augmentation des sommes dédiées au programme de soutien aux organismes du livre.
- Représentation auprès des ambassades canadiennes à l'étranger afin que l'ANEL soit appuyée dans le rayonnement international des livres et des auteurs canadiens. Rencontres lors des salons et foires internationaux ainsi que rencontres virtuelles avec les ambassadeurs, conseillers et agents.

- Patrimoine canadien et Ministère de l'Innovation, de la Science et du Développement économique. Activité de lobbying: représentations et communications auprès des ministres et des fonctionnaires de ces deux ministères afin de participer aux réflexions entourant la Loi sur le droit d'auteur et demander certaines révisions.
