Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs Report: The Time is Now: Granting equitable access to psychedelic-assisted therapies. We are working to have the recommendations in the report implemented with Health Canada, Department of National Defence, Veterans Affairs Canada, and the Canadian Institute of Health Research.
Proposition législative, Projet de loi ou résolution
- Legislative Bill: Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID). Working with Health Canada to improve access to psilocybin-assisted therapy for end-of-life Canadians by seeking an amendment to MAID.
Subvention, Contribution ou autre avantage financier
We are proposing a psilocybin-assisted therapy clinical trial to be funded by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) in collaboration with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and Health Canada. The funding will be used to develop a protocol for veterans to be treated; patient recruitment; principal investigator costs; and data to be collected and shared with clinical trial sponsors.
The clinical trial is being proposed in response to the Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs recommendation for veterans with PTSD who recently recommended a “large-scale research program on psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy" for veterans.
