The Disability Tax Credit Certificate gives Canadians the means to visit healthcare professionals. The current tax credit can be administered by doctors, nurses and physiotherapists. Chiropractors aren't currently eligible to administer the tax credit to patients, hence putting them at a disadvantage when compared to other professions. Chiropractors are regulated in all provinces and territories, and can assess, diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions which affects over 11 million Canadians annually. CCA would like the tax credit modernized to include chiropractors to ensure readily available and proper care for all Canadians.
