Building on the success of the formerly known Bill C-277, The Palliative Care Framework in Canada Act, we are continuing our work around policy/program to help shape future legislation around hospice palliative accessibility.
National Awareness Campaign for Advance Care Planning / Hospice Palliative Care in Canada:
Public Health and Palliative Care to promote better access to and quality of hospice palliative care services across Canada. Our target audiences include Canadians, health care professionals, the federal government and parliamentarians, and Canadian media.
To promote public awareness on grief an bereavement. Asking Canadians to engage in a national dialogue with all sectors of Canadian society, on the subject of grief and bereavement in Canada.

Description of the organization's activities
The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA) is the national voice for quality end-of-life care in Canada. CHPCA offers leadership in the pursuit of excellence in care for persons approaching death so that the burdens of suffering, loneliness and grief are lessened.CHPCA strives to achieve its mission through:collaboration and representation; increased awareness, knowledge and skills related to hospice palliative care of the public, health care providers and volunteers; development of national norms of practice for hospice palliative care in Canada; support of research on hospice palliative care; advocacy for improved hospice palliative care policy, resource allocation and supports for caregivers.
