The FDFA represents 28 land border duty free stores in Canada. As well, as our supplier members who sell products at our duty free stores. Our organizations activities include our Annual General Meeting and our Annual convention whereby our supplier and operator members meet to conduct business (i.e. selling products, discussing marketing initiatives, product launches). We lobby the Federal government on such issues as the passport issue, VRP, etc. The FDFA is the main communication link for our supplier and operator members. We also provide communications to our members on retailing, governement notices. We work closely with the CBSA Duty Free Shop Program on ensuring proper compliance to rules and regulations or new procedures. I am the only full time employee of the FDFA. Our Board of Directors is comprised of volunteer members who meet via teleconference once a month and they are either duty free shop owners or General Members of their respective shop.
