Bill C-285 - An Act regulating telecommunications facilities to facilitate the lawful interception of information transmitted by means of those facilities and respecting the provision of telecommunications subscriber information TELUS' corporate interest is to ensure that costs and technical specifications that are set in new regulations or law that would lead to increased costs and obligations are appropriate to our interests.
Replacement Worker Legislation - Private Members Bill M-294 TELUS is interested in this legislation as a ban on replacement workers during a labour dispute would hinder our ability to operate our organization and serve our customers.

Changes to Foreign Ownership restrictions in the telecom and broadcasting sectors. The government is looking to consult on future changes to foreign ownership restrictions in telecommunications industry. The Industry Committee is also reviewing these issue. The TELUS interest is to ensure that changes do not harm our ability to invest in Canada with the same rules as our competitors.
Possible introduction of consumer protection legislation and regulations TELUS is interested in future consumer protection legislation that deals with provisions concerning contract terms, pricing controls and formalization of new regulations or regulatory requirements.
Proposing amendments pursuant to Income Tax Act concerning Capital Cost Allowance deductions. TELUS is interested in seeking changes to Capital cost allowance deductions for spectrum purchased in auctions from the federal Government.

MTS Allstream Cabinet appeal on CRTC ethernet decision TELUS interest is to oppose this appeal which seeks to confiscate TELUS' investments in next generation networks.
expected amendments to regulations pursuant to the Copyright Act . TELUS offers broadcast and other content based services on TV/Mobile/Internet platforms that trigger copyright obligations to rights collectives. Legislation has not been introduced yet but we continue to work within the consultation framework defined by the government. Specific concerns include implementation of making available rights, exclusion of Network Personal Video recording from time shifting rights and notice and notice provisions.
