Description of the organization's activities
Founded in 1998, WaterPower Canada is the national trade association dedicated to representing the hydropower industry. Its members span the breadth of the industry and, with nearly 50 members, include hydropower producers, manufacturers, developers, engineering firms, organizations and individuals interested in the field of hydropower. Members represent more than 95% of the hydropower capacity in Canada.
The Association is governed through an elected representative Board of Directors.

Organization's membership or classes of membership
Corporate members of WaterPower Canada represent 95% of the hydropower generating capacity in Canada. In addition our members represent the associated industry manufacturers, developers and engineering firms.
Associate members of WPC include renewable energy associations, university departments and Environment Canada. In addition we have a wealth of consultants that contribute to our mandate.
