Description of the organization's activities
Memorial University of Newfoundland is a comprehensive university, the only in Newfoundland and Labrador. It provides post-secondary undergraduate, graduate, professional and trade education to over 18,000 students, 1,500 faculty and 3,500 staff across four campuses and ten locations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as Nunavut, Harlow, UK, and St. Pierre, FR. Memorial’s mission includes a focus on teaching and learning, research, and public engagement.

Memorial University of Newfoundland is a not-for-profit organization with a Board of Regents comprised of university and community stakeholders. Memorial is also a member of national and regional post-secondary interest groups, namely Universities Canada (formerly the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC)) and Association of Atlantic Universities (AAU), which advocate for post-secondary issues at national and regional levels.
