Description of the organization's activities
As the authoritative voice for franchising in Canada, the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) speaks on behalf of franchisors and franchisees in Canada and supports franchise legislation and initiatives that promote and advance excellence in franchising and achieve uniformity in franchise legislation across Canada. CFA will consider advocating against any legislation or initiative that prohibits CFA member franchise systems from effectively and efficiently executing their businesses. CFA works with all levels of Canadian government to ensure the development of industry-made solutions.

With over 600 corporate members nation-wide, the CFA represents many of Canada’s best-known franchise brands and over 40,000 franchisees.
CFA’s membership consists of two different types, a member can either be a Franchise System (FS), or a Franchise Service Supplier (FSS).
CFA Franchise System membership eligibility:
• Must be offering franchises in Canada or planning to offer franchises in the next 12 months
• Must meet CFA’s definition of a franchise
CFA Franchise Support Service/Suppliers (FSS) membership eligibility:
• Must be engaged in providing products or services to franchise systems and/or franchisees
